The Care Charting dashboard provides visibility into scheduled and recorded care across your communities. It surfaces care item scheduling by shift, staffing distribution, recorded vs. unrecorded care KPIs, unrecorded care trends, and staff-level care time analysis.
Access the Care Charting Dashboard
The Care Charting dashboard is enabled automatically for all ALIS HQ customers.
To access it: From ALIS HQ, select Care Charting from the Dashboard menu at the top.

What This Dashboard Shows
The dashboard is organized into the following sections.
Filters
At the top of the dashboard, filter by time range (Today, Yesterday, Last 7/30/60/90 days).
Scheduled Care
- Scheduled Care Items by Shift (Last 30 Days): Pie chart and totals showing the volume of care items scheduled by shift (Shift I, Shift II, Shift III) with percentages.
- Scheduled Care Items by Shift (by Month): Stacked bar chart trending scheduled care items by shift over time.
Where does the data originate?
- Care Shifts are configured in Care Settings.
- Number of Care Items are based on how many have been scheduled for each Shift/Care List. This occurs when your team sets the schedule on the Service Plan and/or adds or edits items on the Care Plan.

Staff Distribution
- Staff by Shift (Last 30 Days): Pie chart showing the number of staff working each shift, with percentages.
- Staff By Shift (by Month): Bar chart trending staff count by shift over time.
- Care Volume by Job Role (by Month):

Care by Product Type & Care Level
- Care Time by Product Type (by Month): Monthly bar chart showing care time spent by product type (e.g., AL, MC).
- Care Time by Care Level (by Month): Drill down to view care time spent by residents' assessed Care Levels.
- Care Time by Care List (by Month): Drill down to view care time spent by specific Care Lists.
- Care Time by Care Item (by Month): Drill down to view care time spent per recorded Care Items.
Where does the data originate?
- Product Types are configured in Company Settings. Product Types are then assigned to individual residents in the Basic Information section of their profile.
- Care Time is calculated based on recorded entry in the Time Taken field during Care Tracking.

# of Staff vs Actual Care Time
- # of Staff vs Actual Care Time (by Day): Combined chart showing daily staff counts overlaid with Time Estimated and Time Taken for care items, useful for spotting days where care delivery doesn't match staffing.
- Care Time by Resident (by Day): Drill down to view estimated care time vs. actual Time Taken (recorded) per resident.
- Care Time by Care Item (by Day): Drill down to view time taken by scheduled Care Item.
Recorded Care Progress
- Unrecorded Care Items: Count of care items not yet recorded.
- Recorded Care Items: Percentage of care items recorded.
- PRN Care Items: Count of PRN care items recorded.
- Not Completed Care Items: Count of care items marked not completed.
Unrecorded Care
- Unrecorded Care by Care List: Pie chart breaking unrecorded care down by care list (AM 1, AM 2, PM 1, PM 2, NOC, AM Housekeeping, PM Housekeeping, etc.).
- Unrecorded Care Drilldown: Per-community bar chart of unrecorded care items.
- % Unrecorded Care Over Time (by Month): Monthly trend of unrecorded care percentage.
Staff Breakdown
- # Residents Cared for by Staff Name: Bar chart showing the number of residents each staff member provided care for.
- Actual vs. Estimated Care Time by Staff: Side-by-side comparison of Time Estimated and Time Taken per staff member.
How to Use This Dashboard
- Spot care recording gaps. The Recorded Care Progress KPIs highlight all unrecorded items requiring follow-up.
- Identify staffing-vs-workload mismatches. Use # of Staff vs Actual Care Time and Actual vs. Estimated Care Time by Staff to find days or staff members where workload may be misaligned.
- Track recording trends. % Unrecorded Care Over Time shows whether recording compliance is improving or declining month over month.
- Investigate by care list. Unrecorded Care by Care List shows which times of day or care types are most likely to go unrecorded.
- Drill down. Click on any chart, KPI, or table row to see the underlying care items and residents.
