The Daily Stand-Up Report is a single-page snapshot of the most important community-wide statuses for your residents and staff. Each section is designed to surface critical resident and community details so your care team has the information they need at their fingertips.
About the Daily Stand-Up
The report is built to be reviewed live on screen during a stand-up meeting with your care team, or printed with the ability to customize which sections are included. Use it to keep all necessary staff informed and to provide the best possible care for residents.
The data in each section comes from various locations in ALIS, and a resident may appear in more than one section. For example, a resident on hospice may also appear on the leave list or in monitoring. Cross-reference the sections to get a complete picture during stand-up.
This guide provides information on how to populate each section so you know what to update in ALIS when something is missing from the report.
Access the Daily Stand-Up
To access the report, click on the Daily Stand-Up Dashboard icon.
Note: It is possible for a user to have security access to the Daily Stand-Up but not to all of the data shown within it. In that case, the restricted sections will not display for that user. If a section you expect to see is missing, check with your administrator about your security role permissions or contact your Account Manager.
Filter the Report
Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow the report to the data you want to review:
- Community: Select the community you are reviewing.
- Product Type: Filter by a specific product type, or leave set to All (default).
- Classifications: Filter by one or more resident classifications, or leave set to All (default).
After adjusting filters, click Refresh to update the report.
Once filters are applied and the page is refreshed, every section displays current data for the selected community, product type, and classifications. Sections with no data display a message such as "No incidents" or "No observations" so it's clear the section was reviewed and is empty rather than missing.
Review Resident Status Sections
The top of the Daily Stand-Up surfaces residents and staff who require active attention.
Residents Actively Monitored
Residents currently flagged for active monitoring, including the start and end of the monitoring period and the reasons. Click the Resident Monitoring Center button to navigate directly to the Resident Monitoring Center.
Populated by: any active records in the Monitoring tab, including if an event end date has been exceeded ("Passed Monitoring End Date") but has not yet been ended.
For more information, see this Resident Monitoring Reference Guide.
Residents in Quarantine
Residents currently in quarantine, including room, start date, days in quarantine, reason, and notes.
Populated by: an active quarantine record on the Resident Profile. The resident drops off this list once the quarantine end date passes or the Quarantine is manually ended.
For more information, see this How to schedule a Quarantine guide.
Staff in Quarantine
Staff members currently in quarantine, with start and end dates, reason, and notes.
Populated by: an active quarantine record on the Resident Profile. The staff drops off this list once the quarantine end date passes or the Quarantine is manually ended.
Review Leave Details and Hospice
The next group of sections highlights residents who are away from the community or have been placed on Hospice.
Residents On Leave
Residents currently away from the community, with leave start, days since leave started, destination, and reason.
Populated by: an active leave record on the Resident Profile. The resident appears here until a Return from Leave is recorded.
Fore more information, see this How to Set a Resident "On Leave" guide.
Scheduled Leaves
Shows any residents with leaves scheduled for a date and/or time in the future.
Populated by: leave records with a future Leave Start Date and/or Start Time.
Fore more information, see this How to Set a Resident "On Leave" guide.
Scheduled Returns from Leave
Upcoming planned returns from leave.
Populated by: active leave records with a future Leave End date entered when schedfuling a leave or editing the leave details in the Resident Profile > Resident Leaves tab. Residents with scheduled leaves (future date or time) will not appear in this section until the leave has begun.
Residents on Hospice
Residents who have a contact with the Hospice Contact Type assigned on their resident profile. The hospice agency contact information is displayed for quick reference.
Populated by: a contact associated to the Resident Profile whose Contact Type is set to 'Hospice'. If a resident is missing from this list, it is most efficient to navigate to Community Contacts to edit the contact or associate the resident from there.
For more information, see these Resident Contacts Reference Guide and How to Add Community Contacts guide.
Review Incidents and Observations
The next group of sections displays incident report overview and observations requiring more attention.
Incidents (Last 72 Hours)
Recent incidents, including the date and time, resident, incident type, summary, status, and the staff member who recorded the incident.
Populated by: incident records created in the past 72 hours, regardless of complete or incomplete status.
For more information, see this Incidents Reference Guide guide.
Critical Observations (Last 72 Hours)
Recent observations flagged as Critical, with date and time, the resident or area observed, observation type, summary, and recording staff member.
Populated by: observations recorded in the past 72 hours that are marked as 'Critical' when the note was created or edited.
For more information, see this How to record new Observations guide.
Selected Observations (Last 24 Hours)
Observations that have been configured to appear on the Daily Stand-Up in Company or Resident Settings.
Populated by: observations recorded in the past 24 hours whose observation type is selected to 'Always show' in the Daily Stand-Up.
For configuration assistance, contact your Account Manager.
Review Flagged Medications, Vitals, and Care
The middle of the report surfaces clinical and billing details that may need follow-up.
Medication Not Available (Last 24 Hours)
Medication administrations that were not completed because the medication was not available, including resident, room, date and time, medication details, notes (if applicable), and recording staff.
Populated by: eMAR entries within the past 24 hours marked with the "Medication not available" exception. The community must have the Medication Exceptions feature enabled.
For more information on Medication Exceptions, see this Medications Settings Guide.
Resident Vitals Out of Range (Last 72 Hours)
Recent vitals that fell outside of their expected ranges, with the date and time, resident, vital type, expected range, recorded value, and recording staff.
Populated by: vitals recorded in the past 72 hours whose recorded value falls outside the resident's configured acceptable range. The vitals range must be set on a resident's Manage Orders page > Wellness Vitals tab.
Care Variance
Residents whose billed care level differs from their assessed care level, with the room number, assessed care level, care level rate, billed care level, and the dollar variance. Care Variance is a quick way to spot billing-to-care alignment issues.
Populated by: a comparison of the resident's most recent completed assessment to the care level currently being billed on the recurring charges. For example, a populated Billed Care Level but blank Assessed Care Level indicates the resident has no completed assessment on file but is actively being charged. A negative variance in parentheses indicates a resident is being billed more than their assessed care level supports.
Nurse Call Events Lasting Longer Than 5 Minutes (Last 24 Hours)
Displays details of any nurse call events not addressed within 5 minutes.
Populated by: This section is only visible if you have a specific nurse call integration enabled.
For more information, contact your Account Manager.
