If you have an order that applies to multiple residents (such as a community-wide vital check or a standard PRN), you can efficiently replicate it rather than creating it manually for each person. This feature works for all Treatments, Routine/PRN Medications, and Informational Orders.
How to Replicate an Order
Navigate to the Manage Orders page of the resident who already has the correct order on their chart.
Click the Options button to the right of the order.
Click Replicate Across Residents.
A menu will appear allowing you to select who should receive this order. You can select All Residents or mulsti-select a specific group.
Click Replicate Order.
Once completed, the order will appear on the MAR, Physician Orders, and Pass Meds page for all selected residents. (Note: Informational orders will only appear on the Physician Orders document).
Identify Replicated Orders
Once an order is linked to multiple people, a specific "copied paper" icon will appear to the left of the order name. This visual cue lets you know that this order exists on other residents' charts.
Edit a Replicated Order
If you need to make changes to this order later (e.g., changing the instructions or schedule):
Edit the order on any resident's Manage Orders page.
Locate the checkbox titled "Apply edits to all..." located below the "+Add Another Schedule" button.
Check this box to instantly update the order for everyone who has it. If you leave it unchecked, the change will only apply to the single resident's order you are editing.
- Click Update Order to save changes.
