Resident Monitoring is a temporary status that can set for a resident as a result of an event or incident. When added for monitoring, residents appear in the Resident Monitoring center so you can review and record vitals, notes, and interventions.
💡Tip: Monitoring Reasons, Interventions, and End Reasons are customizable in Resident Settings.
Locate Resident Monitoring
Any of these locations in ALIS open the same form:
- Monitoring Center: the Monitored Residents dashboard icon, or Residents menu → Resident Monitoring
- Resident Profile: the Monitor Resident button under the photo
- Incident Report: the Monitor Resident button at the bottom
Add a Resident for Monitoring
- Click +Resident For Monitoring (or Monitor Resident).
- In the side pane, set the required fields:
- Resident
- Duration
- Monitoring Reasons
- Interventions
- (Optional) Add a Reason Summary and Intervention Summary (up to 2,000 characters each).
- Click Submit.
The resident now appears under Actively Monitoring, with a Monitor badge on their profile photo.
Monitoring Residents
Review at the Monitoring Center at the start and end of each shift.
- Click +Observation or +Vitals to record checks.
- Click More to Start a New Evaluation, Change Care Plan, Print, Edit, or Delete.
End or Extend Monitoring
All monitoring events must always be manually ended. Click End Monitoring and select a reason.
For monitoring events that have "Passed Monitoring End Date," you can use the Extend Monitoring option to make the event active again.
