Changing another staff's password requires specific security role permissions. Contact your Account Manager or our ALIS Customer Success Team for assistance if needed.
Change a Staff Password
It is common that staff will forget their password and be unable to login. Changing a staff memner's password is the primary method for helping them log in.
Follow these steps to change a staff member's password:
Navigate to the staff profile.
Click on the Login & Access bar to expand the section.
-
Click Change Password, and select one of the following options:
Automatically: Sends a randomly generated password to their email or phone (via text). They will be required to reset this password upon their first login.
Manually: Allows you to create a specific password for them. You must verbally communicate this password to them directly.
-
In the pane that opens to the right, enter the necessary details and click Submit.
Note: It is strongly encouraged for staff to update their password to something private to them after you have reset the password for them. For maximum security with passwords, they should be memorable, unique, and private to only the individual.
Unlock Staff Login (due to incorrect login attempts)
If a staff member attempts to log in but enters the incorrect password more than eight (8) times, ALIS will automatically disable, or lock, their login for security purposes.
To unlock a staff account, follow these steps to restore their access:
- Navigate to the All Staff page, and locate their name. Click on their linked name to view their profile.
Click the blue Login & Access bar to expand the section.
-
Click the Unlock button located toward right of the screen.
Note: Once unlocked, it is recommended to change their password so they are able to log back in.
