Inspiren is a fall-safety, passive resident-monitoring, and nurse-call system for senior living. An AI-based device installed in each resident's room monitors for falls and other in-room events, paired with a nurse-call companion device (wall button or pendant) that alerts staff to a resident's need. When connected to ALIS, the Inspiren app flags ALIS residents and delivers them into the ALIS Resident Monitoring center, where in-room events are centralized and correlated with the rest of the resident's chart.
About the Inspiren Integration
Inspiren is an AI-powered fall-safety and passive resident-monitoring system with nurse call for senior living. The ALIS Inspiren app connects the two systems to flag ALIS residents for monitoring, providing early-warning and fall-prevention support, so that flagged residents and in-room events surface in the Resident Monitoring center alongside the resident's chart.
This integration is designed to:
- Flag ALIS residents as potentially needing monitoring, for staff to review, accept, or dismiss in the Resident Monitoring center
- Send verified in-room falls and other room events from Inspiren into the Resident Monitoring center
- Correlate detected in-room events with the rest of the resident's chart in ALIS
- Map Inspiren resident records to ALIS resident records so events land on the right chart
Who benefits most? Clinical and care staff who monitor resident safety, and communities using Inspiren devices for fall detection and nurse call.
How the Integration Works
Inspiren detects in-room events and sends flagged residents to ALIS; ALIS centralizes them in the Monitoring module and is the system of record for the resident chart. Resident records are linked by an ID mapping so events attach to the correct resident.

Data Flow
The integration is bidirectional. Inspiren sends detected events to ALIS Monitoring, and ALIS provides resident identity/location data back to Inspiren.
| Inspiren Trigger Event | Action in ALIS |
|---|---|
| Verified Fall / Room Event | Flags the resident in the Resident Monitoring center, where staff can review, accept, or dismiss the flag. |
Data Shared
This shows which fields move in each direction so you know where information originates.
Inspiren → ALIS Resident Monitoring center (events)
- Resident Name (mapped by ID)
- Event Type (fall, motion, nurse call)
- Room / Community
- Event Timestamp
Staff data (Staff Name)
- Staff Email
- Staff Role
- Room Occupancy
- Staff hours per resident are exported into ALIS for ALIS HQ reporting.
ALIS → Inspiren (resident identity/location)
- Resident Name
- Resident Room #
- Resident Community
Setup Prerequisites & Required Credentials
| Credential | Where to Find it | Who Provides It |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Auth username/password (App Store) | Generated in ALIS App Store → WelcomeHome → Manage → Authentication → Create Credentials | ALIS (auto-generated) |
| Community Name + ID list | Inspiren sets these up as Campus IDs | ALIS ("Export Settings") |
Enablement Process
Setup happens on both the ALIS and Inspiren sides. Coordinate timing with the Inspiren team. Allow about one week's heads-up to be safe.
Step 1 - ALIS-Side Steps (Initial Setup)
Completed by: Client (or ALIS Integrations Team)
-
Install the app: Go to App Store → Inspiren → Install.
-
Enable for select communities: Settings → App Store → Inspiren → Communities tab, then enable the desired communities.
💡It is recommended to include your training community so we can send a test flag.
-
Generate the Basic Auth credentials: On the Configure tab → Inbound Connections (ALIS API) section, click Create Credentials.
⚠️Note the password immediately to share with Inspiren. It is not recoverable upon page refresh.
-
Generate Community ID export: On the Configure tab → Onboarding Tools section, click Export Settings. Save the downloaded Excel Export to your device.
-
Send credentials + community ID list (Excel Export) to Inspiren via email. The email should include:
- Basic Auth username and password (username must include "@company")
- Community Name and ID Excel Export
- Which communities to set up / enable
Step 2 - Inspiren-Side Steps
Completed by: Inspiren team
Once the Inspiren team receives the credentials and community ID list, they complete the configuration on their side. At a high level, they securely store the ALIS credentials, retrieve and set the matching ALIS company and community IDs in their system, and map their building structure. This connectd each Inspiren room to the corresponding ALIS unit (and both rooms for two-bed units). No client action is required for these steps.
Step 3 - ALIS-Side Steps (Turn on Wellness Index & Move-Out Predictor)
Completed by: ALIS Integrations Team and Client
- Turn on the Move-Out Predictor entitlement: Can only be enabled by the ALIS team.
-
Turn on Wellness Index & Move Out: in ALIS → Resident Monitoring, click Configure Resident Monitoring and enable both.
Step 4 - ALIS-Side Steps (Resident ID Mapping)
Inspiren and ALIS use different IDs for a resident record. The IDs must be mapped in ALIS so ALIS knows which events belong to which resident. To manually map resident records:
- In ALIS, go to App Store → Inspiren → Mapping tab.
- Review records with a status of "unmapped."
- Click Map.
- In the side pane, find and select the corresponding ALIS resident record.
- Click Save.
- Repeat until all unmapped records are mapped.
What to Expect in Your ALIS Environment
- Verified in-room falls and other room events from Inspiren appear as flagged residents in the Resident Monitoring center, correlated with the resident's chart. Staff can review and accept (+ Start Monitoring), or Dismiss each flag there.
- Each event carries the event type, room number, and timestamp, attached to the mapped resident.
For more information on how to start monitoring residents, see this Resident Monitoring Reference Guide guide.
Troubleshooting
Issue: An Inspiren resident's events aren't appearing in ALIS.
- Likely Cause: The Inspiren resident record isn't mapped to an ALIS resident.
- Resolution: In Settings → App Store → Inspiren → Manage → Mapping tab, find the unmapped record, click Map, select the ALIS resident, and Save.
Issue: Events appear on the wrong resident.
- Likely Cause: A mapping error.
- Resolution: Use the Mapping tab to correct the mapping (one Inspiren resident maps to exactly one ALIS resident).
Issue: Events appear on the wrong resident.
- Likely Cause: A mapping error.
- Resolution: Use the same steps (App Store → Inspiren → Mapping tab) in the above Step 4 - ALIS-Side Steps (Resident ID Mapping) section to correct the mapping. An Inspiren resident can be mapped to one and only one ALIS resident record.
FAQs
Is the integration two-way?
Yes. It is bidirectional.Inspiren sends detected events to the ALIS Monitoring module; ALIS provides resident identity/location data back to Inspiren.
Does it cost extra?
No additional cost to the community.
Where do Inspiren alerts show up in ALIS?
Flagged residents appear in the Resident Monitoring center, where staff can review and accept or dismiss each flag; they are correlated with the resident's chart.
Best Practices
- Map all Inspiren residents to ALIS records (and keep them mapped after move-ins) so events land on the right chart.
- Give the Inspiren team ~1 week's heads-up before enabling.
