How To Set Prospect Marketing Status

The Marketing Status for your Prospects in ALIS will help you determine which prospects consent to receive marketing materials.

• This removes the risk that your organization might send mail to a contact who has intentionally unsubscribed.

You can set the Marketing Status in one of two ways: set the status for an individual prospect or use your list of prospects in ALIS to set marketing statuses for everyone in bulk.

Set an Individual Prospect's Marketing Status

Go to the Individual Prospect's profile. Do this by finding them in the search at the top right of ALIS, or find them using the filters on the main Prospects page. 

Once you are on their profile, you may already notice the words Marketing: Subscribed or Marketing: Unsubscribed. 

1. To update the Marketing Status, click the Edit button at the bottom right of the first section.
2. In the pop-up of the Update Prospect screen, you can change the Marketing Status using the menu in the second row toward the right.
3. Select either Subscribed or Unsubscribed. If you leave this menu as 'Not Set', no status will display.
4. Scroll down within the pop-up and click Save at the bottom right.
5. This can also be done when you adding a new prospect profile!

Bulk-Set the Marketing Status for Multiple Prospects

This must be done from the main Prospects screen. To get here, use the Prospects menu at the top and click Prospects.

1. Click the checkboxes to the left of the prospects in the list in order to edit their status with one action. You can click the checkbox at the top left corner of the list in order to select all prospects in view. 
2. Use the filters to help you narrow down the list of prospects you want to update.
3. Once you have made your selections, click the Bulk Edit button at the top of the table.
4. Update the Marketing Status menu to either Not Set, Subscribed, or Unsubscribed. Click Save at the bottom right of the modal. If you leave this menu as 'Not Set', no status will display.

Once you have set your statuses, you can use the Marketing Status filter above the Prospects table in order to view only one of the statuses at a time.
