Create flexible and fully customizable Move-In Packets with e-signature-enabled digitized documents. Once a packet is configured in Resident Settings, it is immediately ready to enable for ALIS Move-Ins and send to external signers.
Prior to packet configuration
Configuring a Move-In Packet requires specific security role permissions that grant manage access to Resident Settings for your company or community. If you do not have access to Resident Settings but need to configure a Move-In Packet, first contact your company administrator. If revisions to your security role are needed, your company administrator should contact your Account Manager or our ALIS Customer Success Team directly.
It is also necessary that your move-in documents are properly digitized and added as Compliance Items in Resident Settings before you can create a packet to send to external parties. Be sure to send your documents in PDF format to your Account Manager or our ALIS Customer Success Team, and be prepared to consult our team on your specifications for signature lines and required fields.
Access configuration settings
Once move-in documents have been successfully added as Compliance Items, the Move-In Packet can be further configured in Resident Settings.
- Navigate to Settings > Resident. Scroll down the Resident Settings page to the Move-In Packet Configuration section.
- Alternatively, users with specific security role permissions can access this Move-In Packet Configuration section directly from the Move-Ins page. Step 1 - Create New Packet

- Click +Create New Packet.
- In the pop-up that appears, type the Packet Name which is how you can indicate how specific documents are grouped. Note that the name typed here will be visible to packet recipients.
- Click Create to save the name of your packet. You can create as many packet names as needed.
Step 2 - Add Compliance Items to Packet
Once you create a new packet, you will need to determine which Compliance Items are included.
- Click +Add Compliance Items.
- In the pane that opens to the right, first select the Product Type(s) from the dropdown menu.
-
- Selecting a Product Type here will filter the below available documents based on the individual items' Product Type settings. If you leave the default option here set to All, any documents that are already digitized and specifically enabled for e-signature will be available to add to the packet.
-
- Next, use the checkboxes to either select all available documents shown here or multiselect which documents to add.
-
- If you choose to include a residency agreement document in a packet, it will be fully integrated into your Residency Agreements feature workflow. For more general information about how to set up and use the Residency Agreements feature, refer to these Set up Residency Agreements and Residency Agreements Reference Guide articles.
- There is an 'Unavailable' section below which will reveal any documents

- To delete an individual packet item, expand the packet by clicking the + sign next to the packet name. Then click the trashcan icon next to the item you wish to delete.
