The Referral Sources section of the ALIS CRM serves as an address book for managing your lead-generating contacts and their associated organizations. From here, you can add new sources, categorize them by type, and create tasks for your sales team to manage relationships and outreach.
Access Referral Sources and Organizations
From the dashboard, use the CRM dropdown menu and click Referral Sources. This takes you directly to the Referral Sources tab in the ALIS CRM page. Once here, you can click on the Referral Organizations tab to go to that section.
Referral Sources
Referral Sources are your lead-generating contacts. These individuals are categorized by Referral Organization, which are categorized by Referral Type. When you go to create a new Referral Source you will be prompted to label it by organization and type, and standardizing these can be beneficial to your CRM reporting.
Referral Organizations and Types are managed in your CRM Settings, however you also have options for adding types and organizations directly from the Referral Organization tab. It is recommended practice to add these options first and then add new Referral Sources as needed. Refer to the below Referral Organizations tab for more information.
Within the Referral Sources tab, you can view, add, and edit Active or Disabled contacts, Export to Excel the contact details, and create tasks. You can also assign tasks for Referral Sources to the sales team.
- To add new contacts, click the +Create Referral Source button. For each referral source contact, you must designate a Contact Type from the dropdown menu with options generated by ALIS. This is typically an exhaustive list, but please share feedback with our ALIS Customer Success Team if you need more options to better align with your processes. You must also create the contact within a referral organization, which can be created at the same time as the contact if it does not already exist in ALIS.
- To create tasks related to your referral source, use the +Create Task button to the right of the table. You can also create tasks for staff on the contact's profile page, which is accessed by clicking the linked referral source name. That page is also where you can edit any details about the referral source and add notes.
Referral Organizations
Within the Referral Organizations tab, you can manage Referral Sources by the organization they associate with, and categorize these organizations by type. Using this tab is similar to managing an address book.
First, you will want to create Referral Types and then add associated organizations.
- If you added new referral organizations in the process of adding referral sources, you may have noticed the Referral Type list which is also a required field. If you need to add more of these types, use the +Create Referral Type within this tab.
- Click the "+" sign next to referral type names to expand the referral types displaying in the table to see the contact details of organizations that have already been added. Organizations can be added here as well using the +Create Organization button and add the contact details.
