When you complete a service plan, ALIS calculates a care level and assigns care packages from it. If either one doesn’t match the resident’s needs, you can override it on the Review Care Level page. This guide covers how to get to that page and how to override the care level, care package rates, or both.
Note: Your security role must have the permission that allows care level overrides.
Step 1: Open the Review Care Level page
How you get there depends on whether the service plan is already complete.

What to Expect
Important: Changing a care level or care package can change the resident’s billing. Let your billing team know when you override either one so they can review the resident’s charges.
Care Level
The overridden care level shows on the Review Care Level page. To undo it, click Cancel Override.
After you complete the review, the overridden care level appears anywhere ALIS shows the resident’s current care level, such as the Resident Profile, the Evaluation Center, and the Evaluation & Service Plan Details page.
Care Packages
The custom rate shows in the Care Packages section of the Review Care Level page, with the original rate crossed out. The Total Care Fee updates to include the new rate.
To undo it, click Override Care Packages again, and select Package Rate for that package.
After you complete the review, the custom rate replaces the standard package rate for the resident.
