About AI in ALIS
ALIS uses AI to save staff time in two main ways:
- AI-assisted features read your documents and data and do the manual work for you, such as prefilling fields or organizing pages, so you review instead of build from scratch.
- AI Insights read an existing record and write a short, plain-language summary of what matters, so you do not have to piece it together yourself.
Principles applied to every AI feature in ALIS:
- Verify before use. AI works only from what is in the record or document. It can miss or misread context, so treat its output as a helpful starting point, not a final word. AI-generated content is labeled accordingly.
- It reflects the current record. Empty fields are simply left out. Keeping records complete produces a better result.
The sections below cover each AI feature, where it appears, and what to expect.
How to Spot AI in ALIS: AI Badges and Tooltips
AI-assisted features across ALIS are marked with an AI badge so you always know when ALIS has done work for you. Hovering over or clicking an AI badge shows a tooltip that explains exactly what that feature did. Wherever AI has prefilled or processed something, review it against the source before saving.
Document Center: Incoming faxes and documents are automatically rotated to the correct orientation and collated, so a multi-page document arrives ready to read and file.
ALIS Pay Check Scan: When you scan a check in ALIS Pay, some payment fields are prefilled from the check image.
Rx Parser: When a pharmacy order comes in, the medication schedule is prefilled from the order, so staff confirm rather than build it by hand.
Resident Evaluation Tool (RASP only): Upon evaluation completion, some fields are prefilled in the Pennsylvania RASP compliance document.
AI Insights
AI Insights adds a panel that, with one click, writes a short, plain-language summary of what is happening with a prospect or resident. It does not repeat data you can already see. Instead, it gives an at-a-glance read of what matters, flags risks, and (for prospects) suggests next steps, all based on information already in the record.
Where AI Insights appears
- Prospect Profile: A sales-focused summary with a Summary, Key Observations, Risk Assessment, and Recommended Next Steps. See Generate AI Insights for Prospects.
- Resident Profile: A clinical-facing snapshot with a Resident Story, Health Highlights, and Recent Activity, built for family calls, care conferences, and shift handoffs. See Generate AI Insights for Residents.
-
Start of an evaluation (Pre-RET): A resident summary appears at the top of the Evaluate page when you begin a resident evaluation.
- Review Care Level page (Post-RET): A family-facing, plain-language narrative describes what changed in the resident's care needs and the resulting care level, with no billing, diagnoses, medications, or clinical jargon.
Rate a summary (feedback)
From any AI Insights panel you can rate the summary with a thumbs up or thumbs down and leave an optional comment. This tells the ALIS team whether AI-generated content is helpful and helps improve future summaries.
In-Product Page Translation
ALIS can translate the visible text on a page into another language in place, without leaving ALIS or using outside tools. A user picks a language from the language picker in the page header, and page headings, section labels, table headers and cells, buttons, and form labels translate. You can return to English without reloading the page.
