About AI Insights
AI Insights adds a panel that, with one click, writes a short, plain-language read of a resident. Instead of repeating everything on the page, it synthesizes the resident's record into an at-a-glance summary.
For residents, AI Insights appears in three places, each tailored to what you are doing:
- Resident Profile: A snapshot of who the resident is and what has been happening recently, built for family calls, care conferences, and shift handoffs.
- Start of a resident evaluation (Pre-RET): A resident summary to orient you before you begin evaluating.
- Review Care Level page after an evaluation (Post-RET): A family-facing narrative of what changed in the resident's care needs and the resulting care level.
How to Enable AI Insights
This feature is behind an entitlement and requires an ALIS team member to enable it. To request access, contact your Account Manager.
How to Generate AI Insights
Wherever the AI Insights panel appears, the steps are the same:
- Open the page that shows the AI Insights panel (see locations below).
- Click Generate. The summary appears within a few seconds.
- Click Regenerate any time you want a fresh read after the record changes.
On the Resident Profile
At the start of an evaluation (Pre-RET)
After an evaluation, on the Review Care Level page (Post-RET)
What to Expect
The summary loads with three distinct sections, and each group appears only when there's something to show, with the most recent items listed first.
Resident Story
A short, warm narrative covering move-in date, room, program, prior living situation, and the family/care contact network (with roles such as POA, health proxy, or emergency contact).
Health Highlights
A list that surfaces items like allergies, diet, advanced directives, assistive devices, profile notes, and the most clinically significant active diagnoses. Critical items (for example DNR or a penicillin allergy) are called out in bold.
Recent Activity (Last 90 Days)
A look at roughly the last 90 days, grouped into:
- Clinical events such as incidents, observations, leaves/hospitalizations, notable vital changes.
- Medication changes such as new starts and discontinuations.
- Evaluations that have been recently completed plus any overdue.
Share Feedback on a Summary
You can tell us whether a summary was helpful directly from the panel. Rate any summary with a thumbs up or thumbs down, and add an optional comment.
Your feedback helps the ALIS team see whether AI-generated content is useful and improve future summaries. Rating a summary is optional and does not change the summary itself.
Feature Considerations
- Always verify before acting. Every summary carries the note "AI-generated content — verify before use." It works only from what is in the record and is a starting point, not a substitute for reviewing resident charts.
- It states facts, not opinions. The feature is intentionally designed to avoid evaluations or conclusions (no "no significant concerns," no "progressing well"), to avoid inventing personality or life events and to stay silent on information that is not in the record rather than drawing conclusions from gaps.
- It reflects the current record. Empty fields are simply left out of the summaries. The Resident Story refreshes about every 2 hours and Recent Activity about every 15 minutes; click Regenerate any time you want an immediate fresh read.
