If you find that there are many duplicates of the Community Contacts (also referred to as Associated Contacts), you may find it helpful to clean up the list in ALIS. It is possible to perform this cleanup in bulk, instead of individually. You can also use this process to assign multiple contacts to multiple residents at once. This process can also help with editing Resident Personal Contacts in bulk.
Editing Community Contacts
In the Residents menu, click "Community Contacts"
Click the Bulk Add/Edit Contacts button
Click the Edit Contacts button.
Once on the Edit Contacts page, choose Community in the Contact filter. You also have the option to narrow down the list by choosing a specific Contact Type. Once you have done so, click Refresh.
Results will populate in a table below. Scrolling to the right allows you to see all fields saved for each contact. Edit any information here.
If you want to update which residents are associated to the contacts, click in the Residents field of the contact, start typing the resident name, and select the name.
You can also click the checkbox next to the Type for multiple contacts, and click the button to the top left of the table titled 'Bulk Edit Contacts'.
A popup will appear where you can select multiple residents to associate to all of the selected contacts.
Once you have made all desired changes, click the Submit Edits button on the bottom right of the page.
