Overview: If your community is changing from one pharmacy to another brand new pharmacy, ALIS will do what it can to reduce the amount of work necessary to get the new pharmacy connection up and running, but there will most likely be some medication mapping necessary. Below are steps to take to ensure that duplicate medications are not created.
- To ensure that no duplicate orders are created when transitioning to a new pharmacy, clinical staff must review medications sent by the new pharmacy and map them to existing medications the previous pharmacy had sent.
A.) After clicking Process for an incoming medication, you should see an option to “Map to Existing Schedule
B.) Compare incoming order details and instructions with the existing order. Once all information is verified/updated, process order.
C.) Review resident’s Manage orders page to confirm no duplicate orders exist.
2.) Repeat the above steps for all residents until completed!
