Customize important notifications for staff with the ALIS Alerts feature. Manage alert types (Medications, Billing, etc.) and delivery methods (email, text, etc.). All alerts can be viewed in the ALIS Alert Center.
About ALIS Alerts
When you receive an alert either via email, text, or within the Alert Center, that alert includes a link to a relevant page in ALIS so that you can efficiently review the relevant information.
Alerts are set up for staff at each individual community. If you or your staff need alerts for multiple communities, these must be managed separately for each community. For information about customizing your alert events categories and copying across communities, read this Alert Settings guide. For further assistance, contact your Account Manager or our ALIS Customer Success Team.
Manage Personal Alerts Preferences
- Navigate to your My Account page and click the Preferences tab.
- Click the Manage Alerts Preferences button in the Alerts tab of this page.
- This opens a pop-up where we will configure each subscription we want to receive, and how we want to receive it. Mark you preference for alert type and delivery method by selecting the checkboxes.

Daily Digest refers to one email received in your inbox each morning at 6:00am CT that contains all of the previous day's alerts with links to access the ALIS Alert Center and view specific alert information.
- Real-time Emails are individual emails sent to you momentarily after one of the events within the category occurs. These are useful for more urgent alert types, such as Incidents.
- Real-time Texts function the same as Real-time emails, except you will receive the alert in the form of an SMS text. These are also useful for more urgent alert types, and particularly for staff who may not always be near a stationary device.

ALIS Alert Center should be selected for any alert types that you only want to read in the Alert Center. Note that for other alerts to be received for any of the other subscription options (Daily Digest, Real-time Email/Text) will also appear in the ALIS Alert Center.

- Click Submit at the bottom right to save your preferences and begin receiving alerts.
Any alert category that you have been subscribed to displays in the Alerts tab. Click on the + sign and category name to view the included events. Doing this shows you which specific alert evens are included in the categories available. If you need to edit the events included in a category, these must be updated in your community's Alert Settings. Refer to this Alert Settings for more information on configuring alerts. For help updating your Alert Settings, reach our to your company administrator or contact our ALIS Customer Success Team.
Manage Staff Alerts
Follow the below instructions to bulk subscribe staff to Alert Categories:
- Navigate to the All Staff page.
- Click the checkboxes to the left of the staff members' names for those you want to assign Alert Categories.
- Click the Assign Alert Categories button above the table.
- In the pane that opens on the right, select the categories you wish to assign the selected staff.
- Click Assign Alerts at the bottom of the pane.
- To complete the alert subscription setup for staff, you must Manage Alerts Preferences on each individual staff member's profile. Click on a staff name to access their profile, scroll down to the Settings section, and click on the Alert & Notification Preferences blue.
- Follow steps 2 through 4 in the above section to complete the subscription.
