With the iStream check scanning feature in ALIS Pay, your team can use a check scanner for direct deposit in ALIS. This guide outlines the steps to take to configure your check scanner device.

Check Scanner Configuration Steps
The two check scanner models supported by iStream in ALIS Pay are the TellerScan® TS250 or CheXpress® CX35. For more information about these models, read: ALIS Pay: Check Scanning Reference Guide.
Step 1: Connect the check scanner device to power.

For users with a TellerScan® TS250:
It is important to ensure the check scanner is first only connected to power, not to a computer.
Change the scanner from Network mode to USB mode. Watch this training video for instructions.
Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds. At the 10 second mark, the machine will chirp 2 times.
Release the Power button. The light should change from red to blue.
Proceed to Step 3 below.
Step 2: For users with CheXpress® CX35, connect the check scanner to the USB port on your computer with the supplied USB Cable. (This USB cable will be included in your check scanner packaging at purchase.)
Step 3: Press the Power button to turn on the scanner. The scanner will go through a brief boot process. When the boot process is complete, the LED light will flash green.
Step 4: Once the check scanner has booted, open your web browser and type: https://192.168.2.1
First, click Advanced. Then, in the section that expands below, click the Proceed to 192.168.2.1(unsafe) link.
Step 5: This takes you to the Digital Check Scanner Administration page. From the lefthand menu on this page, click the Scanner Settings.
Step 6: This takes you to the Scanner Settings Page where you must configure two specific settings:
Make sure the checkbox to the right of Use SSL is selected.
Click the Generated Cert with builtin CA option.
Click Save.
Step 7: When you click Save, a red pop-up appears prompting you to reboot the scanner. Click the Close Message button.
Step 8: The next step you must take is to reboot the scanner.
At the bottom of the lefthand list of options, click Reboot Scanner.
In the white box shown in the center of the page, click the Reboot button.
In the red pop-up that appears, click the Close Message button.
Step 9: After the scanner reboots, type https://192.168.2.1 into your web browser. Important: You must include the https:// or the page will not load.
The page will load with a message "Your connection is not private." Click Advanced, and then click the Proceed to 192.168.2.1(unsafe) link as you did in Step 4.
Step 10: Once the page loads, it will show “Scanner current IP address: 192.168.2.1 :443” which indicated that your scanner has been fully configured and ready for use.
Scan Checks in ALIS
Once you have configured your scanner, you are ready to scan checks in ALIS. Navigate to your ALIS environment and log in begin check-scanning.
In the Payment Center, click +Scan Checks.
In the right side pane that appears, enter the Received On Date, Expected Total, and Default Application Type. Keep the blue toggle on Scanner Mode.
Click the Next: Set up Scanner button.
Follow the ALIS Pay Check Scan instructions to make sure your scanner is connected. Once ALIS identifies your connected scanner, click Start Scan.
