Use ALIS data to streamline your reporting to the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC). If you utilize ALIS Billing and the Floor Plan, you can quickly generate the required files with minimal effort.

Generate monthly NIC export files in ALIS
On a monthly basis, you will need to export the Rent Roll and Prop List files from ALIS to upload to the NIC portal. These export files are due to NIC on the 10th of the following month. Time Required: ~15 minutes.
Step 1: Generate Files in ALIS
From the ALIS Dashboard, navigate to the Communities menu and select NIC Actual Rates.
Locate the month you are reporting on and click +Create Export. Click Export in the confirmation pop-up.

Once processed, two download links will appear for that month:
Rent Roll
Prop List
Click each link to download and save both files to your computer.
Note: If the generated files are empty, your Floor Plan or Rent Roll configurations may be incomplete. Please see the First Time Setup & Configuration section of the NIC Actual Rates Reference Guide.
Step 2: Submit to the NIC
Log in to the NIC Portal.

Upload the Rent Roll and Prop List files.

Which ALIS clients can use the NIC export feature?
- Multi-unit companies
- Clients utilizing the ALIS Floorplan and Billing.
- Before enabling the feature in ALIS, clients must be accepted to the program by the NIC; data has to be certified by the NIC before they will accept it.
Are there costs?
There is no charge for using the NIC Actual Rates Export in ALIS.
Is my data anonymous once I submit it?
Yes. The NIC ensures that your specific occupancy rates remain anonymous and cannot be discovered by third parties.
How much effort is it to setup and submit?
- Contact your Account Manager or our ALIS Customer Success Team for enablement assistance.
- The monthly data reporting process only takes about 15 minutes. This includes generating the files in ALIS and uploading them to the NIC.
