The Adjust option is a way to correct the count by either increasing or decreasing the quantity. Typically only Administrators have access to this.
This should be the last option you choose before exhausting other ways to match the quantity in ALIS with the quantity in real life.
- When you use the Adjust option, you should indicate in the notes the reason why the quantity in ALIS does not match the quantity in real life.
- This is meant to be used when the reason for quantity mismatch is unknown and can indicate the beginning of an investigation about potential drug diversion.
With adequate security permissions, you will find the Adjust or Adjust Count button in the Perform Drug Count page, and on the Manage Quantity page.
- To decrease the quantity, type "-" before the amount.
- Notice how the Updated Amount field shows how the adjustment will impact the Remaining Quantity once you click Submit.
Once the Adjust pop-up is submitted, the quantity of the order in ALIS will be updated appropriately so that staff can continue doing the Drug Count for each shift going forward.
The Manage Quantity page audits this adjustment, and you will also find this in the Drug Count reports.
