Observations can be edited by anyone who has access to edit Observations within the period of time it is labeled Active.
Go to the Observation Center and click the pencil icon to the right of an Observation to edit it!
- Your access to edit observations depends on permissions turned on for your Security Role. Most of the time, these are people with the administrator and nurse roles. The administrator at your community can contact us to change this access.
- If there is no edit pencil for a particular Observation, Administrators can change any Observation note to Active for themselves or others to edit.
- The arrow icon takes you to a page to view more details about the Observation, and this is where admins can make the note Active again.
- The length of time an Observation is labeled Active is based on a default setting for that Observation type AND may be edited when someone is creating the Observation note.
Note that the Active/Non-Active status does not ever delete or hide the Observations. You can always view all Observations in the Observation Center. By default, the Observation Center shows you Observations created within the last two weeks, and you can update the filters to view older Observations.
Some Observation Types are restricted by Security Role. Example: notes that have the Nurse's Note type are usually only viewable or creatable by people with administrator or nurse roles.
