With an active pharmacy integration, we can request refills and resupplies from the pharmacy directly from ALIS with no need to use an outside software, email, or fax machine!
The type of pharmacy integration you have determines whether this feature is available for your community. For more information about Pharmacy Connections, read this article: Pharmacy Connection Reference Guide
This feature must be enabled by your ALIS Onboarding Manager. Please contact us for help if you are interested!

Manage Orders
If you have permissions to access Manage Orders for a resident, you can click the Options menu for orders added using your pharmacy connection to find the Request Resupply option.
When you click this, you are prompted to add a Reason for your request, and you can see the number of available refills the resident has for this order. Once you add your reason and click Send Resupply Request, the pharmacy will receive this message!
Med Pass
The functionality to request resupplies/refills is very similar here, and it is helpful to have this option available for staff who do not have access to Manage Orders, but need to be able to request the refills.
Below the "Record As" details for a specific order, click the Request Resupply button.
This prompts the same modal as is found in Manage Orders, giving space for you to add a reason and click Send Resupply Request.
Resupply Status
After you submit the requests for resupplies, you will be able to track their status from the Pharmacies page.
There is a Resupply Status tab here that gives you the ability to filter for specific requests and see some information to help you anticipate what might happen next.
The status column is likely to say "Fill Pending - Pharmacy reviewing request" if a request was very recently made, and once the order is filled, the status will update to say something like "Filled - Prescription filled".
This screen also helps you see which staff members have made which requests, and you can filter for this at the top as well if needed.
Most likely your pharmacy will only use a few of these statuses to communicate with your team, but the complete range of possible statuses are:
- Fill Pending
- Filled
- Partial Fill
- Not Filled
- Error
- Dispensed
- Partially Dispensed
- Not Dispensed
- Transferred
