If you need to remove the specific times from your resident Care Plans, all we need to do is update some settings. We can set our Care Items' schedules to be more general, displaying only the Care List and Shift.
It is possible that your organization would rather not display times on resident Care Plans. This may prevent liability for delivering care during an exact time during the day. If you set the task to display more generally within a Care List, you can still prioritize the tasks within the list so that they display in the order you want.
In this article we cover how to change these settings, and what the results will look like.
Care Settings
These settings are available to individuals with administrator-level Security Roles only. If you do not have this access and need help, contact ALIS Support or your onboarding manager.
- Go to Settings, and in the Care section, click Care.
- When you first open Care Settings, you are looking at a tab called General. Make sure you are updating settings for the correct community using the menu at the top right of the page, and click the Care tab.
- The main section of this page beneath the filters is the list of all Care Items within Categories. Click the plus signs to expand the Categories, or in the filters area above the table, click 'Expand All to see all Care Items.
- Use the Checkboxes to the left of the Care Items or Categories to use the Bulk Edit button at the top of the table. This opens a pane that allows you to update settings in bulk for all selected items. Click the checkbox in the pane that say Hide care times throughout ALIS and change the setting to Yes. Click Save.
Of course this can be done for individual Care Items as well. Find the item in the list, click Edit, and check the box that says 'Hide Care Times'.
No longer will the Care Items display times in the resident Care Plans or in Care Tracking. They instead say 'Anytime' in the Record Care page.
Set Care Item Priority
If you then need to prioritize the items in the Care List (since they are no longer sorted by time), you can do this on the Work Lists page. Care Lists and Work Lists refer to the same thing in ALIS.
- Go to the Care menu at the top of your screen in ALIS, and click Work Lists.
- Scroll down to find the Work List (also called Care List) you want to prioritize. Click the name of the list.
- On the next page we see the list of all scheduled items in this work list. We can drag and drop the items to sort them according to your preferred priority for caregivers.
